Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida

Almost one in 17 girls in the six-county district of the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida is a Girl Scout, according to CEO Denise Valz. Yet, as the organization celebrates its 100th anniversary, she worries about the other 16 girls.  Listen as she and her program director, Demi Clemens, describe the varied programs available to girls ages 5 to 17 to develop self confidence, leadership skills and valuable knowledge for life.  From programs led by women engineers to financial literacy training through cookie sales, Girl Scouts today help prepare girls for the future through fun, enriching programs for troops as well as individuals.  You’ll also hear from long-time Girl Scout, Sara Recht, who started as a Daisy at age 5 and is now in 8th grade at Eagles Landing Middle School.  For more information about the Girl Scouts of Southeast Florida, call 561-427-0178 or visit their website.
