Most people see a need, but do nothing about it. Owen O’Neil, a nurse for 18 years, saw a need so great he had to take action. He founded Clinics Can Help, which helps injured and ill patients find medical equipment they need to continue their rehabilitation at home. From hospital beds to wheel chairs, Owen scours garage sales and the back rooms of medical supply stores to find used or overstocked items he can supply to people who have exhausted all financial and insurance support. Last year alone, his organizations supplied much-needed equipment to more than 1500 people. The Palm Beach County based non-profit helps children, adults, and the elderly. They support free clinics, and provide equipment to nursing schools. The organization’s lending closet provides medical equipment to underserved patients.
