We had the pleasure of having Chris Yoculan, the adult services director at 9Muses Art Center. 9Muses is a program of the Mental Health Association of Southeast Florida designed to provide adults with mental health disorders an opportunity to partake in Fine Arts, Support Groups, and Peer Activities. Participants are able to choose from a broad array of visual and performing arts. Classes and personalized instruction along with individual studio time allow members to create according to his/her own personal “muse” and engage in stimulating activity without regard to labels. They also have Support groups for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as peer specialists available for mentoring and support.
