We had the pleasure of having Cherie Wachter, Vice President of Marketing at the Humane Society of Broward County.

The Humane Society of Broward County…

  • Has the ability to house 300 plus dogs and cats
  • Placed 6,791 dogs, cats and other furry friends in 2017
  • Has over 100,000 patrons visit each year
  • Educationally touches over 150,000 children and adults
  • Has full-time veterinarian services for shelter animals
  • Is identified nationally as a “Leader in Animal Welfare”
  • Is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) organization
  • Receives no direct funding from the government, United Way or any national group with a similar name.
  • Is an open admission shelter
  • Is NOT affiliated with any county or national organization

Where The Money Goes…

The Humane Society of Broward County relies on the generosity of our community and companies to fund our operations and programs budget. We do not get funding from the government, United Way or any other national or local organizations with similar names. Income sources are: adoption fees; services such as dog obedience, vaccination clinics, spay/neuter programs; pet boutique sales; fundraising events; grants; general donations and from those people who leave the shelter in their will. Every dollar is carefully spent to help the unwanted animals.

Philanthropy Tank

We had the pleasure of having EVAN C. DEOUL, of Philanthropy Tank.

Philanthropy Tank fuels and inspires the next generation of change leaders – our youth – or as we like to call them, CHANGEmakers. Students identify social issues that confront our community. The program challenges empowers and equips them to develop and execute sustainable initiatives and solutions to these problems.

Philanthropist-Investors fund student initiatives, investing in their community projects. Through one-to-one mentoring, philanthropist-investors fuel students’ desire, helping them execute initiatives while increasing their ability to make meaningful change.

The fundamental aims of Philanthropy Tank are to help shape students’ leadership paths and, through their creative solutions, address and improve social issues in our community.

FUNding Working Families

Funding Working Families is a 501c(3) nonprofit charity. Our mission is to provide inspiring theme park vacations to underprivileged children and their hard working families. 

According to the US Census Bureau the 2017 poverty threshold for a household of 2 adults and 2 children is an annual income of $24,858. These families are working but unable to afford a much needed family vacation that many of us enjoy yearly.

Feeding South Florida

We had the pleasure of having Paco Vélez, of Feeding South Florida.

Feeding South Florida is the sole Feeding America food bank serving Palm Beach, Broward, Miami-Dade, and Monroe Counties. We are the largest and most efficient food bank in each of the counties we serve. More than 98% of all donations are put back into the community. For every $1 donated to us, we can provide 6 meals.

Through direct-service programs and a network of nonprofit partner agencies, Feeding South Florida distributes 50.5 million pounds (42 million meals) of food per year, as well as leads hunger and poverty advocacy efforts and provides innovative programming and education.

Chariots of Love

The Chariots Of Love mission is to provide FREE wheelchairs, and wheelchair repairs, to mobility-challenged children in the USA under the age of 21. This is funded by tax deductible public donations and grants

Connected Warriors

LogoWe had the pleasure of having Judy Weaver Co Founder and Director of Connected Warriors. The Connected Warriors mission is to empower Servicemembers, Veterans and their Families worldwide through Trauma-Conscious Yoga.

Judy Weaver, assisted by and Ralph Iovino, began a series of free local classes in south Florida. Based on a steady demand for more classes in more locations, Connected Warriors established its 501(c)(3) status and began to expand.

Connected Warriors continues to grow based on contributions and volunteerism and offers evidence based Trauma-Conscious yoga classes, programs and teacher training based on the latest scientific and psychological research in communities around the world.
