Kids In Distress
This week on the Forum for Nonprofits, we had the pleasure of having Letty Vendrell, Director of Development of Kids In Distress. Kids In Distress of Broward and Palm Beach counties (KID) is a licensed nationally accredited agency working for the prevention of child abuse, preservation of the family, and the treatment of abused and neglected children. Mental Health Association of PBC
This week on the Forum for Nonprofits we had Pamela Gionfriddo, CEO of the Mental Health Association of Palm Beach County. The Mental Health Association works with community partners to advocate for solutions that will improve the lives of people living with mental illness. UF 4-H Youth Development Program
This week we had Noelle Guay, extension agent at the UF 4-H Youth Development Program. The UF/IFAS Extension 4-H Youth Development Program uses a learn-by-doing approach to help youth gain the knowledge and skills they need to be responsible, productive citizens. This mission is accomplished by creating safe and inclusive learning environments, involving caring adults, and utilizing the expertise and resources of the University of Florida and the nationwide land grant university system. Dezzy’s Second Chance Animal Rescue

Daggerwing Nature Center
This week on the Forum for nonprofits, we have Sean Mallee, manager and Eydie Cowan, president of Daggerwing Nature Center. Daggerwing Nature Center is set within the beautiful confines of Burt Aaronson South County Regional Park in western Boca Raton. Features include a 3,000 sq ft. exhibit hall with live animals and interactive state-of-the-art exhibits, classroom facilities, laboratory, lobby, reading area, and an elevated boardwalk which takes you on a relaxing journey through a swamp.

Center for Independent Living of Broward
On this week’s show we had the pleasure of having Camille Wallace, director of grants and legal services at the Center for Independent Living of Broward. Their mission is to offer assistance to people with disabilities in fulfilling their goals of independence and self-sufficiency. Under the Rehabilitation Act of 1978, Congress established the Center for Independent Living in response to individuals with disabilities need for core services focused on independent living skills training, peer support, information and referral, and advocacy. Since 1991, The Center for Independent Living of Broward (CILB), a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization, has served more than 100,000 individuals with disabilities in fulfilling their goals of independence and self-sufficiency. CILB strives to enhance the lives of people with disabilities, regardless of age, in Broward, Charlotte, Collier, Glades, Hendry, and Lee counties.
