Achieve Palm Beach CountyWe had the pleasure of having Stacey Watson, Executive Director of Achieve Palm Beach County. Achieve PBC believes our children have a right to equitable access of a post-secondary education in whatever form that may take. Be it a traditional college degree, a professional certification for employment or learning a trade through vocational programs- post-secondary education is for everyone and it is their mission to take the confusion, misconceptions and trepidations out of that process.

Spirit of Giving Network

SpiritOfGiving_logo_vertical (2)We had the pleasure of having Sue Diener, Executive Director of Spirit of Giving Network. The Spirit of Giving Network is a collaborative, nonprofit organization with a focus on children and families in South Palm Beach County. It is a forum where nonprofits and community supporters share information, resources and best practices. Currently, there are more than 60 nonprofit member organizations meeting on a monthly basis. The group’s objective is to streamline the delivery of services to the community by working collaboratively to solve issues and improve operations through internal and external partnerships.

Children’s Bereavement Center

Image result for children's bereavement center south floridaWe had the pleasure of having Chira Cassel, COO of Children’s Bereavement Center. The Children’s Bereavement Center provides free Peer Support Groups for children, young adults, and adult caregivers after the death of a loved one.  Groups are open to anyone who has lost a parent, sibling, grandparent, relative, or friend as a result of illness, accident, suicide, or homicide.  Losses can be recent or in years past. They can be reached by phone at (561)257-2627 or on the Children’s Bereavement Center website here. Listen to the program here: 

Youth Activity Center

Image result for youth activity center bocaWe had the pleasure of having Ellen Joy, Executive Director of Youth Activity Center and Harrison Roth, volunteer. The Youth Activity Center provides a quality, enriching after-school program for children in grades kindergarten through 5th grade. Their program emphasizes physical fitness,  academic excellence, character development, and life skills. Cool Clothes Closet

Image result for cool clothes closet of south palm beachWe had the pleasure of having Lynda Walsh of Cool Clothes Closet. The Cool Clothes Closet is a “Store” dedicated to providing fashionable clothing, free of charge, to “teenagers in need” in a boutique-style setting. Their goal is to promote dignity and normalcy for these young people. Self-esteem is essential for success in life, whether socially, academically, or professionally. Autism Speaks

Legal Aid Society of PBC

The Legal Aid Society works to provide high quality civil legal advice, representation and education to the disadvantaged of Palm Beach County so as to protect their personal safety, enhance their opportunities and living conditions and promote self-sufficiency. 211 Palm Beach County

logo2We had the pleasure of having Patrice Schroeder, community relations specialist at 211 Palm Beach County.  211 works to provide a team of specially trained staff to assist callers through its 211 HelpLine with crisis intervention, suicide prevention, information, assessment and referral to community services. They also collect and maintain information on community health and human services and makes this information available via its hotlines, helplines, printed directories, and on the web.
